PUBLIC HEALTH & HIV PREVENTION
Florida—especially Miami-Dade County—continues to face one of the highest HIV infection rates in the United States, disproportionately impacting Hispanic immigrants and refugees. In response, our HIV prevention efforts directly support the BIENESTAR program, connecting vulnerable communities with essential prevention tools, including HIV testing, early detection, and information on biomedical prevention methods such as PrEP.
Through our formal alliance with Survivors Pathway, clinical and psychosocial services are provided by their certified team, while GOHR leads the human-rights education, prevention outreach, and community engagement that make these services accessible, culturally relevant, and stigma-free. Together, we expand prevention access, reduce fear, and safeguard the health and dignity of those most at risk.
The Results:
We have supported more than 150 Hispanic immigrants and refugees in Florida through access to HIV testing, early detection, PrEP awareness, and prevention resources. Our partnership with Survivors Pathway continues to strengthen access to essential health services, reduce stigma, and protect the well-being of displaced and underserved communities.
